Q. How long does the Easter Egg Hunt last?

A. The egg hunt and the rest of the festivities will start at 11 am and concludes at 4 pm.

Q. Do I have to be there at 11 am?

A. No. You can arrive to the egg hunt whenever you would like. However, we recommend getting there as soon as possible to enjoy the day, and to have the best chance at finding the $1 Million Golden Egg.

Q. I’m an adult, can I participate in the egg hunt?

A. Yes, of course. We welcome all ages.

Q. How do I know The Million Dollar Golden Egg will actually be hidden?

A. In order to maintain the integrity of the egg hunt, a public official from Mayor Ed Gainey's Office will be witnessing the hiding of The Million Dollar Golden Egg. So, rest assured, it's yours to find.

Q. What happens when I find the $1 Million Golden Egg?

A. When you find the Golden Egg, you will need to secure it and bring it to the registration booth. Upon finding the Golden Egg, we suggest not drawing a lot of attention to yourself. Instead, discreetly bring your egg to our officials in order for us to confirm you are indeed the winner of the Million-Dollar Easter Egg Hunt. Once we have confirmed that you are a registered participant through your QR code, we will officially declare you the Million-Dollar Easter Egg Hunt winner.

Q. How long will it take for me to receive the prize money when I find the Golden Egg?

A. Once we verify that the egg you have found is the official Golden Egg, we will ask you for identification (Driver’s License, Non-Driver’s License ID, Passport, etc) Afterwards you will be issued a company check. You will be asked to sign a document acknowledging you are the one who found the Golden Egg, and that you received your winnings.

Q. Do I have to pay taxes on my winnings?

A. Depending on what state your live in, you might be required to pay taxes on your winnings. We suggest consulting with a tax attorney for the best advice.

Q. How hard will it be to find the Golden Egg?

A. It will be challenging, but not impossible. Most adults will be able to find the Golden Egg within the time frame of the egg hunt.

Q. What is the cost per ticket?

A. The cost is $28 per ticket.

Q. Why are you selling tickets well in advance of the egg hunt?

A. We are selling tickets well in advance for the egg hunt to determine an approximate number of people attending. This is the largest Easter Egg Hunt ever held, much planning and organization is necessary.

Q. Will I be able to purchase a ticket the day of the egg hunt?

A. Yes, you can purchase tickets up until one hour before the start of the egg hunt. However, we strongly suggest purchasing tickets as soon as possible as past events have sold out months in advance.

Q. Will I be able to purchase a ticket the day of the egg hunt at the door?

A. No, no tickets will be sold at the door. You must purchase your ticket online, here on our website.

Q. How will I receive my ticket?

A. After purchasing your ticket, you will receive an email to the email address you provided containing your ticket. You will be able to print out your ticket or present the QR code on the ticket via your cell phone at the door.

Q. Is there a maximum number of tickets I can purchase?

No, you can buy any number of tickets as you would like.

Q. I bought a ticket for the egg hunt, but I can’t attend, can I give my ticket to someone?

A. Yes, of course you can. However, to claim the Million-Dollar Golden Egg prize, you must be the one to officially turn it in.

Q. Can I take pictures and video during my experience at the egg hunt?

A. Of course you can. We will also have several professional photographers, videographers, as well as drones capturing all of the excitement taking place throughout the day. You will be able to download all of what we captured for free the following day here on our website.

Q. Can I bring my own food and drinks?

A. Yes, however, we ask that you respect the park and pick up after yourself when you are finished.

Q. What is the minimum age to participate in the egg hunt?

A. Anyone can participate in the egg hunt, if you are under the age of 17, you must either have permission from a parent or legal guardian or be accompanied by someone 17 years of age or older.

Q. Will you be giving out bags to collect the eggs?

A. Yes, however, we ask that you bring a bag as well in the event we run out of bags.

Q. Will there be a guarantee that someone will find the Golden Egg?

A. While we can’t guarantee that someone will find the Golden Egg, it is more than likely that someone will. We will be monitoring how close egg hunters are getting to the Golden Egg. If after a certain time no one has found the Golden Egg, it will be secretly moved to its second, less challenging location, making it easier to find.

Q. How well hidden will the colored easter eggs be?

A. Some will be hidden well, and some will be out in plain site on the lawn. This will give some older children a challenge, and the younger children a little easier time finding eggs.

Q. Are employees and their families permitted to participate in the egg hunt?

A. No, they are not permitted to participate in the egg hunt. This is to make certain that they egg hunt is kept fair, and everyone taking part has a level playing field at finding the Golden Egg.

Q. Are the hidden Easter Eggs real, or fake?

A. All of the hidden eggs are fake. The colored eggs are a variety of colors and are typical egg size. The $1 Million Dollar Golden Egg is gold in color and is 7 inches in circumference.

Q. How will I know where to hunt for the colored eggs and golden egg?

A. Upon purchasing your ticket, you will be sent a map to the email address you provided. The map will outline and highlight the zone/parameters where Easter eggs will be hidden. No eggs will be hidden outside of that zone.

Q. Are all tickets sales final?

A. Yes, all ticket sales are final.

Q. Will the event be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather?

A. Depending on the severity of the weather, the event may be rescheduled. If the event is to be rescheduled, we will announce it here on our website, as well as notify you via the email you provided.
